Here at Avado, we believe in people-powered transformation because we know that all transformation starts with people. We are a professional learning organisation that upskills people, uplifts cultures and future‑proofs organisations in a fast‑moving world. We design and deliver interactive learning experiences in data, people, business analysis and marketing including work-readiness programmes, apprenticeships and professional qualifications, many of which maximise UK Government future skills funding. Our connected learning approach combines deep expertise, collaborative learning, scalable technology and award-winning learning design to deliver unrivalled learner experiences for people and organisations who want real change.
Who we need
Our Head of Learning Delivery will manage all Learning Delivery Managers in our Apprenticeships product experience team, which sits in our Enterprise business unit. We’re looking for someone who has a keen eye for the details that matter, has great ambitions to take a top 10 apprenticeship business into the top 5, and ensure the capability needs of our organisational clients are fulfilled. To do this, you’ll be someone who knows how we can:
Retain a happy, high-performing coaching team;
Achieve market-leading completion, pass and satisfaction rates;
Define and deliver the ongoing learner cycle that enables effective skills behaviours transfer AND meet all requirements for monthly receipt of ESFA payments;
Meet all government and award body regulatory and reporting requirements to the standard that is required of a high-quality, market-leading learning provider.
Equally importantly, you will align beautifully with our organisational values, which were defined by our people for our people, clients, learners and partners:
What you’ll do
Create and lead a stellar learning delivery team, set the highest possible delivery standards – firmly focused on providing outstanding learner experiences and client services – whilst keeping a keen eye on costs to ensure profitability.
Lead the streamlining of operations where it’s possible and appropriate to do so, improving operational efficiency and allowing human intervention to focus on the most valuable activity and experiences of our learners.
Set up and run the right rhythm of governance that keeps the team tightly focussed on the above key results, and especially the OPP for apprentices, given their commercial significance.
Identify and develop opportunities to grow our market share, reaching a wider audience.
Maintain great working relationships with all external bodies (e.g. ESFA, Ofsted) where it is appropriate, and making sure we meet all of their requirements and give them confidence that Avado is the highest quality learning provider.
Ensure we delight our clients – managing evolving client needs to propose cost-effective tailored solutions, evidencing ROI for them where possible and ensuring repeat business.
Lead a team of coach leaders to the heights of success and excellence, such that the above points are all realised and true.
What we’re looking for
Extensive learning management experience in a high-quality apprenticeships business.
A deep passion for apprenticeships and evidence that you can deliver impactful learning experiences for clients and learners that are also commercially successful.
Demonstrable experience of rolling up your sleeves in an SME environment (so that you can understand and navigate the context) and large organisations (so that you know what amazing looks like); experience of working with tight budgets, light resources and big ambitions.
Extremely high levels of accountability, energy, resilience and ambition.
Extremely data literate and data driven. Always asking the questions ‘what is the data telling me?’, ‘what actionable insights have we got here?’ and ‘what impact am I driving for our learners?’.
A strategic mindset and brilliant execution skills, with the ability to influence at a Senior Client, Executive and Shareholder level.
Exceptional commercial awareness, tying back operational and product development activities to overall business targets.
Strong planning, operational and financial management capability.
High level of interpersonal, communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
Inspirational leadership skills, demonstrably able to meet highly diverse needs and expectations of different, talented individuals.
Extensive experience in oversight of all the regulatory requirements of apprenticeship providers.

And we’re highly inclusive….
Avado is one of those rare places where anyone from anywhere with any background or experience is free to come and do their very best work. We believe in the diversity of thought, as that’s what helps us help our clients and learners – whether investing in their own development, or having their employer invest for them. Equality, diversity and inclusion are values that underpin our success; come and see for yourself!
Our award-winning culture is centred on our values and purpose, balancing the support and structure of an established business, with a pace and adaptive environment more akin to an entrepreunerial start up.
The bottom line is we're all trusted with responsibility and actively encouraged to be the unique individuals we are.
In 2021 we won an award in the Business Culture Awards, and became Great Place to Work Certified.
