Title: Learning & Development Coach & SME – Data Science
Location: UK Remote
Here at Avado, we believe in people-powered transformation because we know that all transformation starts with people. We are a professional learning organisation that upskills people, uplifts cultures and future‑proofs organisations in a fast‑moving world. We design and deliver interactive learning experiences in data, people, business analysis and marketing including work-readiness programmes, apprenticeships and professional qualifications, many of which maximise UK Government future skills funding. Our connected learning approach combines deep expertise, collaborative learning, scalable technology and award-winning learning design to deliver unrivalled learner experiences for people and organisations who want real change.
Who we need
Amanda, our inspirational Learning Delivery Manager, is looking for a proactive, passionate, and committed Data Science professional to join our team of Learning and Development Coaches to focus on our Level 7 Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist apprenticeship programme.
Having a background of working with Data Science qualifications and industry experience you will be able to transfer your knowledge and experience to enhance the provision we provide and make a real difference to the learners you engage with. We need someone who is a natural coach, someone who is excited about their role and committed to developing and passing on their knowledge to the next generation of Data Scientists, encouraging both colleagues and customers alike.
Equally importantly, you will align beautifully with our organisational values, which were defined by our people for our people, clients, learners and partners:
What you’ll do
On this apprenticeship, our learners develop the tools and techniques to execute detailed investigations and analysis, to implement technological strategic solutions and identifying the right solution to meet their employer’s needs. As this apprenticeship is part of an integrated degree, learners will gain an MSc in Digital and Technology Solutions, therefore having knowledge of supporting qualifications to degree level or above will be beneficial, alongside forging strong relationships with the University of Buckinghamshire (UoB), our partner for delivering this apprenticeship.
You will support the apprentice in creating a portfolio that shows their ability to carry out these tasks at the correct level for the qualification:
Identifying, designing and delivering complex IT business processes, technology roadmaps, and business transformation
Negotiating and agreeing specialism delivery budgets, presenting to senior stakeholders, and demonstration of originality in problem-solving
Inspiring and motivating others to establish high levels of performance in digital and technology solutions
Developing and delivering digital solutions that are scalable with a wider understanding of business context
You will also be accountable for:
Supporting learners outside of university hours e.g. in their holidays, so building a good relationship with UoB is essential
Lead for the apprenticeship with Ofsted
Caseload Management- planning and organising monthly learner visits to ensure that every learner is seen, supported, and have remedial plans where needed
Supporting your learners to ensure they progress and achieve in a timely manner, and use Avado systems effectively to monitor and record your learners’ journey
Stakeholder engagement- you will work closely with our clients directly through apprenticeship program leads and line managers, and our own internal delivery team and account managers
Managing delivery KPI’s and escalating issues timely.
What we’re looking for
Someone who is massively excited about the use of data management and technological solutions, with a passion for supporting others to be effective in how data is utilised to drive business performance and behaviour
Someone who can easily forge and maintain internal/external relationships that lead to positive results, conversations, and creative and sustainable solutions
Significant Data Science industry experience
Someone with an advanced maths qualification or a degree in a technical subject
Experience of coaching and teaching
Familiarity of apprenticeship standards and end point assessment processes
Knowledge of BCS qualification portfolio
Dell EMC Data Science Associate Certificate
BCS Diploma in Data Analysis Concepts
What you’ll get Lots of benefits including:

And… just for being here, we offer you a culture that’s created and nurtured by super smart people and underpinned by our Values which guide our thinking, decisions and actions, creating a truly unique place to work. You will also get to be at the forefront of helping a very diverse range of professionals enhance their careers, whether at the early stages or later down the line. You'll enjoy a hybrid working environment with an enviable workspace to use in West London, serious personal development opportunities (well, we are a learning organisation after all), and some rather nice job-related and lifestyle perks. Oh, and one more thing - we're a Great Place to Work™ certified company, and the only commercial learning organisation in the 'large' category that's recognised as one of the UK's Best Workplaces™, something we are rightly very proud of!
And we’re highly inclusive….
Avado is one of those rare places where anyone from anywhere with any background or experience is free to come and do their very best work. We believe in the diversity of thought, as that’s what helps us help our clients and learners – whether investing in their own development, or having their employer invest for them. Equality, diversity and inclusion are values that underpin our success; come and see for yourself!
Our award-winning culture is centred on our values and purpose, balancing the support and structure of an established business, with a pace and adaptive environment more akin to an entrepreunerial start up.
The bottom line is we're all trusted with responsibility and actively encouraged to be the unique individuals we are.
In 2021 we won an award in the Business Culture Awards, and became Great Place to Work Certified.
