Who we need:
We are hoping to appoint someone with a successful track record of building and implementing go-to-market strategies to achieve our profitable growth agenda and bring much-needed market insight to the fore of our decision making. We need someone who has been highly successful in delivering their personal targets, with exceptional sales leadership experience. To be successful in our context, the person we need will be highly capable of understanding the best ways in which to sell experience- and service-based proposition, as well as knowing how to successfully close extremely large deals. 

This person will have extensive experience in managing key client relationships, closing strategic, multi-year opportunities across multiple territories worldwide, and able to take an insight-led approach to building the capability of the teams in both their direct control and indirect influence (e.g. Product Strategy, Product Development and Marketing.) Highly analytical and client-focused, this person will have been the face of a service- and experience-based, highly commercial organisation.

Finally, and of equal importance, this person will have extensive experience in managing large, complex partnerships where collaborations on product design, development and go-to-market strategies have been core to the success of both the employing organisation and their strategic partners.

What you’ll do:

  • Developing and implementing plans and strategies for profitable business growth across the spectrum of the Avado proposition and with clients with multiple territory reach.
  • Creating the environment and conditions for a high performing client facing function to thrive.
  • Proactively managing client and partner expectations, contributing to a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Defining, refining and implementing sales processes that demonstrably produce agreed outcomes.
  • Refining the infrastructure (incl. systems/CRM utilisation) in support of a successful client facing function.
  • Providing detailed, accurate, well-analysed and insightful forecasts.
  • Compiling information and data-related to client and prospect interactions.
  • Leading the build and development of a remarkably impressive bid writing function, and influencing the build, implementation and optimisation of a product and solutions engineering function.
  • Collaborating on the monitoring, including inputting to, market and competitor activity, providing feedback and insight for the relevant Avado teams as appropriate.
  • Personally managing key client relationships and leading the closure of strategic client opportunities.
  • Leading a matrix partnership-focused structure within Avado to build, manage and develop strategic partnerships with product partners, such as Tableau and Google.
  • Collaborating with the Product Strategy team on identification of future product direction and partnership development to meet known and unknown, current and future client needs.
  • Drive compliance and functional readiness across Avado for business growth initiatives, collaborating with the Product Strategy team on innovation and various product priorities.
  • Structure and negotiate innovative content partnerships, working directly with C-level partner executives and partnering successfully across Avado.
  • Advocate Avado product objectives across a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders, supporting the motivation of partner investments in Avado priorities

 What we’re looking for

  •  Extensive experience in selling complex solutions of consulting, services and experiences that positively impact client organisations.
  • Extensive experience in leading diverse teams through a positive, collaborative approach in developing and selling client solutions.
  • Experience in working with large, complex organisations with a multinational reach.
  • Track record of overachievement of quota, and building successful, multi-year client relationships.
  • Public and Private sector experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience and desire to do new business / sector development and growing under-served territories and segments.
  • Maintaining a high client retention rate through strong senior executive relationship management skills and leadership.
  • Experience in working with an experience / services proposition essential.
  • Highly energetic, demanding and passionate about achieving goals and ensuring client loyalty.
  • Strong business orientation, judgement and acumen.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Unquestionably outstanding interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • High integrity business leadership ethos, demonstrably able to create successful environments for all stakeholders.
  • Extremely strong intellectual horsepower and curiosity.
  • Good analytical and organisational skills that clearly help to focus own and others’ time and energy.
  • Able to think outside the box and accept nothing less than the best possible solution for each and every deal.
  • Proven ability to communicate and work at the C-level of complex organisations.
  • Demonstrable professional sales skills, preferably using known sales methodologies (Challenger® preferred).
  • Experience with direct customer contracts, within an account management or new business role.

    Being part of Avado means we can choose to study any of our programmes. In 'normal times' we also hosted regular 'Learning Days' (and these are subject to review now that we work in a more 'hybrid' way.)     On the mental health side, in addition to giving access to up to four structured counselling sessions with a qualified practitioner, we also try to make sure that work itself isn't taking a toll on our health or lives.   • Holiday 🌴

    Time off is very important in our business; we're all busy, we're all energised and we're all pursuing wonderful things. This can be tiring, especially when you layer on the complexities of our unique business and the ambiguity that is ever-present in the marketplace. So we are all strongly encouraged to make full use of our holiday entitlements:

    - We get 25 days holiday, plus relevant public holidays wherever you are based;

    - This increases to 26 days after 2 years' service, and to 27 days after 4 years' service;

    - We get our birthday off every year;

    - We can buy up to five additional holidays per year in January, subject to the salary sacrifice rules in place at the time.

  • Enhanced Time off with a New Born 🐣

    We offer up to 3 months' paid 'maternity leave' for eligible people (subject to the relevant laws at the time) in the UK. Following this, the statutory rates will apply.
