Who we need:

A core part of Avado’s offer includes our apprenticeship business – Arch.  Arch is rated Grade 1 (Outstanding) by Ofsted.  We have a vacancy to help sustain and grow our footprint across the UK Government and the wider public sector. 

Supported by both a direct report and a dedicated client success team for apprenticeships, you will have ultimate responsibility for setting and delivering the strategy for success in this key market. 

What you’ll do:

  • Personally manage a set of high-profile Government clients to achieve your own individual target;
  • Lead a small team (which will grow with your success) to nurture existing clients, to attract new ones, and to increase Avado’s footprint across a range of apprenticeship solutions;
  • You’ll play a lead role in building and developing relationships with a range of stakeholders across the UK Government, including relevant professions and core functions of the Cabinet Office;
  • You’ll represent Avado at key partnership meetings, and will be responsible for successfully delivering all key contract outputs (including SLAs, KPIs and MI returns);
  • Reporting to the head of UK Apprenticeship Sales, you’ll own the strategy for delivering profitable growth across all public sector markets;
  • You’ll build deep relationships across a range of clients, helping to unearth opportunities for growth in Avado’s commercial and social value solutions;
  • Your demonstrable passion for both the power of public service and the value and impact of apprenticeships will enable you to act as a champion and respected spokesperson for Avado across the sector;
  • Bring market and learning insight to Avado’s prospective clients in order to influence their procurement decisions favourable to our business;
  • Bring customer insight to Avado’s internal teams, particularly Product & Delivery and Marketing in such a way that Avado’s proposition may be continuously refined, improved and/or upgraded according to known and projected market needs;
  • Leading the preparation and delivery of bids / RFIs / RFPs and/or other tender responses which are bespoke to customers’ requirements and that clearly articulate Avado’s proposition to meet those needs;
  • Prepare and delivering market-leading, customer-facing presentations and proposals.

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive Account Management experience in driving apprenticeship sales across the public sector.  We want an innovator; not an order-taker;
  • A proven track record in hitting own targets and experience in supporting teams to achieve theirs;
  • A demonstrable and genuine passion for supporting public sector clients;
  • Someone with a black book of contacts, ideally across Civil Service, NHS and Local Government;
  • A charismatic, natural leader with ambition to learn and to grow.
  • Any experience managing 1-2 people would be desirable

    Being part of Avado means we can choose to study any of our programmes. In 'normal times' we also hosted regular 'Learning Days' (and these are subject to review now that we work in a more 'hybrid' way.) We have an incredible amount of expertise and talent across the business, so we want to spend time sharing, learning from each other, and celebrating it - we're currently working out how best to do this in the new world of work.

    On the mental health side, in addition to giving access to up to four structured counselling sessions with a qualified practitioner, we also try to make sure that work itself isn't taking a toll on our health or lives.     Time off is very important in our business; we're all busy, we're all energised and we're all pursuing wonderful things. This can be tiring, especially when you layer on the complexities of our unique business and the ambiguity that is ever-present in the marketplace. So we are all strongly encouraged to make full use of our holiday entitlements:

    - We get 25 days holiday, plus relevant public holidays wherever you are based;

    - This increases to 26 days after 2 years' service, and to 27 days after 4 years' service;

    - We get our birthday off every year;

    - We can buy up to five additional holidays per year in January, subject to the salary sacrifice rules in place at the time.
